This week, we received: a (large) head of lettuce, one and a half bunches of kale, chives, apples (labeled “baking”), carrots, and two Korean radishes.
On Sunday, we had people over for homemade pizza to celebrate our friend K’s birthday. We used the basil from last week and the chives from this week as a topping.
We’ve been eating salads with the lettuce and snacking on the carrots, which taste like spring. It’s so nice to have some veggies that take little prep to consume.
According to Wikipedia, you can eat baking apples raw, but that’s not the best way to showcase their flavor. Since we are lazy, we will eat the apples raw, knowing that we are sacrificing taste. I’m not going to worry about it.
Unfortunately, we are still so busy that I haven’t had much time to cook. We are either at school so late (after 7pm) that I can only make convenience food or eat out or I am too tired to cook from our increased workouts – we’ve been climbing stairs and walking up and down a steep dam near our house to prepare for mountain hikes.
So, we still have Korean radishes, some kale, and pecans to eat. Plus everything I picked up yesterday. I’m really hoping to get some cooking done this weekend!
