The Audubon society is offering free downloads of prints from John James Audubon’s Birds of America. Scott is an ornithologist, so it seems fitting that we have some (more) birds on our walls. Picture frames were 50% off again at JoAnn.com and there was an extra 15% off coupon, so each frame came to $6.55 before tax or shipping costs.
I chose to focus on smaller songbirds in order to have a “theme” since I was only willing to buy four frames. (Although I love the flamingo and the brown pelican.) I picked: The yellow-throated vireo; the cerulean warbler; the blue-green warbler, which Scott thinks looks like a female cerulean warbler; and the “blue yellow-backed warbler,” which is now known as the northern parula.
The prints are currently displayed in our entryway.
